After nearly 50 years in law enforcement, I’ve learned a few things. One of them is that good communication matters. Another is that there’s always more to the story than what fits into a headline or a social media post. That’s why we’re launching this newsletter.
Every month, we’ll give you a closer look at the work happening across our department – from the officers and staff who serve this community every day to the programs, partnerships and public safety information that help keep Huntsville a great place to live, work and visit.
You’ll find updates on department initiatives, crime prevention tips, community events and maybe even a few stories that don’t involve flashing blue lights. Believe it or not, those days do exist.
Our goal is simple: keep you informed, answer your questions before you have to ask them and give you a better understanding of the work your police department does every day. We know trust is built through relationships, and relationships start with communication.
Thanks for spending a few minutes with us. We hope you’ll check back each month as we continue sharing what’s happening at HPD and in the community we proudly serve.
Sincerely,
Chief Kirk Giles
Huntsville Police Department
